Beautiful New Landscape Installation in Franklinton, NC

When our team at MWM Landscaping & Grading arrived at this new construction home in Franklinton, NC, the property was far from move-in ready. The builder had left behind poor drainage and a muddy yard with no landscaping in place. Our clients wanted a beautiful, functional outdoor space that complemented their new home — and we were happy to deliver.

Grading and Preparing the Foundation

We began by correcting the drainage issues and grading the backyard to create proper slope and water flow. Once the grade was set, we brought in nutrient-rich topsoil and installed fresh Bermuda sod, establishing a smooth, healthy lawn that tied the entire yard together.

Planting and Finishing Touches

With a solid foundation in place, we turned to the landscaping and installed over 200 plants, including sunshine ligustrums, autumn blaze maple, emerald green giants, loropetalums, butterfly bushes, Japanese cedar trees, Japanese ferns, kaleidoscopes, fire chief arborvitae, hydrangeas, boxwoods, a bloodgood Japanese maple, and crepe myrtles.

To bring everything together, we added:

  • Metal edging and Delaware river rock around the home to define the beds
  • Pine straw in the outer beds for a clean, natural finish
  • Landscape lighting in both the front and back for beauty and nighttime visibility
  • Hardscaping included: A cozy fire pit area built with the Techo Bloc Valencia fire pit kit, complemented by Delaware pea gravel and a small retaining wall

This Franklinton project transformed a muddy mess into a vibrant, cohesive landscape that our clients can enjoy for years to come.
